The transport and logistics centre (TLC) planned for construction in Vorsino in the Kaluga region will be the first of 19 key hubs across Russia. An agreement to this effect was signed on 30 June by Russia’s deputy transport minister Alexey Semenov, JSC RZD Russian Railways’ director for corporate management Andrey Starkov, acting governor for the Kaluga region Vladislav Shapsha and JSC FVK’s executive director, Yuri Yuriev.
To increase the terminal’s capacity, Morstroytechnology conducted engineering surveys and drew up project documentation for the West Container Terminal, which is the second phase of the Vorsino TLC.
The federal Transport and Logistic Centres project is part of a complex plan of modernisation and expansion of Russia’s arterial transport infrastructure to be completed by 2024, approved by Russian Government Order No.2101-p dated 30.09.2018. Standards for the key network of transport and logistic centres are set out in the general TLC development scheme, approved in June 2020.
According to the assessment made by Russia’s deputy transport minister Alexey Semenov, the Vorsino TLC exactly matches the key parameters set out in the federal project. It is located within a large multimodal transport hub, in direct proximity to arterial transport networks, and has simultaneous road and rail access.
