Project Cargo Terminal. Cherepovets (Inland waterways)

Project deadline: 2014–2015

Project brief: Construction of a berth suitable for the unloading of oversized heavyweight equipment (OHE) - pre-assembled modules shipped from the port of Rotterdam for the construction of a new ammonia production plant at FosAgro-Cherepovets JSC.

Key project characteristics: The berth was designed and constructed to receive loads using two Liebherr LR 1750 cranes working in tandem, with a combined lifting capacity of 650 tonnes.

Results

• With the engineering survey conducted and basic design documentation prepared, approval was received from non-state expertise body;
• Detailed design documentation was prepared;
• The berth was constructed and put into service, with Morstroytechnology’s specialists supervising the construction works;
• The project was implemented within an unprecedented timescale - less than 12 months from start of design work to completion and entering service.
