Graduated from M. I. Kalinin Polytechnic Institute in 1974 majoring in Civil Hydraulic Engineer.
From 1974 to 1984 he worked in construction of Kolymskaya Hydropower Plant where gained practical experience of Civil Engineer and rose from foreman to Chief Engineer of Kolymskaya Hydropower Plant.
He has experience in construction and design work for foreign projects in Finland, Ghana, and Morocco. He managed in particular construction project of facilities of Keitele-Päijänne Canalin Finland, which comprises 5 locks and 6 bridges.
Design business management experience he gained in Lenmorniiproekt.
With substantial practical experience and having upgraded his professional skills in port process design from 1984 he worked successfully as a Chief Project Engineer, from 1998 managed South Branch of Lenmorniiproekt, from 2006 he was a Deputy General Director of Lenmorniiproekt.
He managed design work of Lenmorniiproekt for projects in South Russia such as: Port of Tuapse, Novorossiysk, Temruk, Sochi, the Caucasus, Zhelezny Rog.
He is a Honorary Transport Worker of the Russian Federation and Honorary Marine Worker of the Russian Federation.
