The berth is designated for the anchorage and mooring of ships with the following characteristics:

  • displacement – up to 25,000 tonnes,
  • length – up to 160 m,
  • draft – up to 12 m;

and for cargo handling operations using a mobile crane.

The upper structure was developed utilizing both pre-cast and cast-in-situ elements, combining the advantages of both precast and cast-in-situ reinforced concrete construction.

To ensure reliable anchorage to the bedrock, rock anchors were designed with additional pipework.

The reinforcing cage for the piles includes purpose-designed junction rings, which allowed the cage to be built up using cranes with a limited handling radius.
