For the project, Morstroytechnology conducted engineering surveys of the water basin and elaborated the sections of the technical feasibility study and working project associated with hydrotechnical facilities and the terminal’s rail infrastructure, as well as participating in the approvals process and design supervision.

The project is described in further detail here – facilities for the first launching complex at the port of Kuryk

In a nationwide broadcast during celebrations of Industrialization Day, the Republic of Kazakhstan’s Head of State, President Nursultan Nazarbaev, declared facilities constructed by Kazakh National Railways as part of the Nurly Zhol programme open.

These facilities included the first launch complex at the port of Kuryk, the most eagerly anticipated project of the year.

“Kuryk opens the way for us to the Caucasus and to Europe. It is our long-awaited project, vital to our development and modernization”, said President Nazarbaev, before starting the loading of wagons onto the ferry at Kuryk.

The ferry complex at the port of Kuryk is an important link in the transport and logistics system of the international Transcaspian corridor, and at the time of writing all rail and port infrastructure is complete.
