Morstroytechnology specialists conducted tests of axial compression and extension loads on experimental piles on the quay pier at the port of Novorossiysk.

The tests were carried out to a maximum test load of 1,200 tonnes compression and 1,100 tonnes extension, a unique occurrence in an open water environment.

A system of metal welded beams for transferring a given load to the piles being tested was designed and a scheme for the installation of hydraulic jacks developed.

Morstroytechnology’s specialists performed continuous monitoring of the piles under test and of the system as a whole, meaning that their performance at each stage of loading could be controlled and ensuring an accurate and reliable test result.
